Psychosexual therapists have undertaken an intensive two year course, before qualifying. I have been accredited by BASRT. (British Association of Sexual and Relationship Therapy)
Pyschosexual Therapy
At times in our lives people may experience sexual difficulties. These could be short-term after a baby, due to stress, or longer term and you need to seek the help of a psychosexual therapist. The programme is based on cognitve behavioural therapy.
Sessions can be tailored to individuals or couples. Initial assessment meeting. This lasts for an hour and you will be asked lots of questions. (I may ask you to see your GP if I feel we need to rule out a medical problem.) I will explain to you how the programme works.
If you decide to continue a more thorough assessment is taken (this is done seperately if you are a couple) you will be asked more indepth questions which allows me to tailor the programme to your specific difficulties. You will then be set work to do at home, this could be to improve intimacy, communication, relaxation or more specific tasks. You need to be able to allow time in your life to undertake the homework (at least 3 hours a week or fourtnightly)and meet with me weeklyor fourtnightly.
I specialise in seeing clients for;
Vaginismus (unable to have penetrative sex)
Dyspareunia (pain)
Orgasmic problems
Fear of sex or lack of knowledge
Erectile dysfunction
Premature ejectulation

Sexual addiction (cyber sex)
Are you spending more and more time looking at cyber sex? Is it affecting your home-life, relationships and work? Have you tried to stop but cannot? Are you feeling alone? Is it feeling out of control? Is it a secret?
I will carry out a thorough assessment where you will be asked lot's of questions and I will explain how I work. Sessions are for couples and individuals who have an addiction or who are affected by sexual addiction. Clients need to be motivated to change.
I do not see clients in groups but can recommend a group if you prefer this.
